Terminal Controller- Belfast- Permanent

 

About the Role

We are currently recruiting a Terminal Controller to join our Belfast terminal. This role is critical to ensuring the safe and efficient receipt, dispatch and transfer of client products, while maintaining full compliance with Exolum’s safety, environmental, fire and security procedures. You will work within a COMAH‑regulated site, supporting day‑to‑day terminal operations and responding effectively to both routine and emergency activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Exolum safety, environmental and operational policies and procedures
  • Be fully familiar with the On Site Emergency Plan, acting as Traffic Controller during on‑ and off‑site emergencies
  • Supervise the receipt and dispatch of products from shipping operations to road vehicles
  • Ensure all drivers and contractors comply with site safety rules and procedures
  • Prepare shipping lines ahead of operations
  • Assist the Senior Terminal Controller in delivering safe and efficient terminal operations
  • Carry out Planned Maintenance Inspections and report any damaged or worn equipment
  • Perform pigging and line clearance following shipping operations
  • Conduct tank gauging for stock control purposes, including working at height up to 20 metres
  • Maintain high standards of site housekeeping
  • Promote behavioural safety, process safety and staff health and wellbeing

 

About You

You will have a strong commitment to safety and be comfortable working in a highly regulated operational environment. You are able to follow written procedures accurately and respond calmly and effectively to alarm situations. The role requires flexibility, including lone working at nights and weekends, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, with PPE provided. You will have the confidence to stop work where activities are deemed unsafe and communicate clearly with drivers, contractors and colleagues. Basic IT skills are required to operate site systems such as weighbridge and terminal management systems. Previous experience in fuel terminal operations or process environments would be advantageous, along with mechanical or electrical trade experience or relevant technical qualifications. You will also be willing to complete required training, which may include travel to other Exolum terminals.

About the benefits

Salary: depending on experiences £45,000 - £50,866.92
