We are looking for a Terminal Controller at our Clydebank site, ensuring the safe and efficient receipt, dispatch and transfer of client products. Ensuring compliance of drivers, contractors and other terminal staff with Exolum, Fire, Safety and Security instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with all Exolum safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Being fully familiar with the requirements of the On Site Emergency Plan
- Take on roles in an emergency scenario as defined in the On Site Emergency Plan
- Supervising the receipt and dispatch(where applicable) of product to road vehicles
- Record road receipts in the stock accounting system.
- Ensuring drivers comply with site safety rules on the loading bays
- Managing driver queries at the loading bays and control room
- Preparation of product receipt lines before receipt of product
- Work in accordance with operating procedures for all aspects of shipping receipts.
- Carry out post pre/post receipt checks as per procedures.
- Monitoring and ensuring of Contractor compliance
- Carrying out planned operational maintenance tasks and inspections.
- Reporting damaged or worn equipment promptly
- Maintain a high standard of site housekeeping
- Work to standards, procedures that meet COMAH requirements
- Ensure all tasks carried out conform to company policies, procedures and systems.
- Comply with the Values and Fundamental Principles of the company
- Champion behavioural safety and staff health and wellbeing

About You
The successful candidate will have the ability to follow written procedures, responding correctly to alarm situations in a calm manner. Lone working at night and/or at weekends may be required once fully trained. Outside working in inclement weather conditions (PPE will be provided) also part of this role.
Have the ability to halt activities deemed to be unsafe and report these promptly.
Good communication and computer skills, e.g. Road Loading automation system.
In order to succeed in the role you will need industry experience in aspects of fuel terminal processes. Trades experience(mechanical/electrical) preferred with a good level of school education in Maths, English and Science. Trades qualification e.g. HNC, BTEC mechanical or electrical with process operating qualifications would be an advantage. Be prepared to complete training courses, including the possibility to travel to other terminals when required.
