About the role
The successful candidate will work to standard, procedures and work instructions for Safety Critical Tasks in order to meet COMAH requirements. Assessment of Competency will form an ongoing part of this role. Ensure all tasks carried out conform to company policies, procedures and systems. Comply with the Values and Fundamental Principles of Exolum. Be responsible, regardless of position, for the health, safety and security of yourself, colleagues and customers in accordance with Exolum business and HSEQ principles. Be individually responsible for bringing to the notice of Line Management any potential hazard to health, safety or the environment of which you know or learn, in order that the hazard can be eliminated or significantly reduced; and for reporting any incidents relating to work activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks in accordance with the Asset Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Report, via CMMS:
- On the maintenance tasks performed including an assessment of the asset condition.
- On any defects that are found on the assets.
- Provide support e.g. making isolations or locating and explaining the operation of assets, to facilitate work being performed by other members of the O&M team or for project teams
- Additional or refresher training may be required to maintain competence in the above tasks.
- Undergo any training / re-training that may be required to ensure that the requirements of Exolum procedures, the client and statutory regulations are met.
- Work to standard, procedures and work instructions for Safety Critical Tasks in order to meet COMAH requirements. Assessment of Competency will form an ongoing part of this role.

About You
- You will have a good standard of education with 5 GCSE’s (Grade A-C) or equivalent and have previous experience working in a fuel terminal. With a keen eye for detail you will understand and be able to demonstrate the ability to follow procedures accurately.
- Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent formal training
- Level 3 or equivalent in Electrotechnical Systems and/or installation and maintenance
- BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) Certificate – Preferred or willingness to obtain
- COMPEX (Ex01–Ex04) – Preferred or willingness to obtain (essential for working on ATEX-rated equipment)
- Strong understanding of safety systems, electrical schematics, and control wiring
- Experience working under Permit to Work, LOTO, and isolation procedures
- Proven competence in fault-finding, maintenance, and installation of LV electrical systems
