Project Engineer - Immingham

About the role

 

You will assist the Project Manager in delivery of Commercial Growth (new installation) CAPEX projects, plan and manage the programme of works for the inspection and repair of tanks, pipelines, and minor projects. You will have responsibility for supervision and reporting of several projects and/or engineering works at various locations at any one time and oversee multi-disciplined contract engineers who conduct engineering activities on the assets, ensuring that all works are executed on time and to budget and in full compliance with company standards and UK legislation.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Contribute to the improvement of project management systems, procedures, and workflows.
  • Co-ordinate inputs to project proposals from a cross-functional team of Operations & Maintenance, Subject Matter Experts (Eng, Integrity, IT & OT), HSSE and Commercial colleagues.
  • Assist with the activities associated with the Management of Change process for the life cycle of the project in line with the company procedure.
  • Provide support in ensuring the projects allocated and planned are executed according to plan, budget and scope.
  • Develop the scope of works based on business need, 3rd party inspection reports/data and internally prepared repair plans complete with defined budgets, forecasts, and programmes of work/ Gantt charts for assigned projects.
  • Plan and manage the programme of works for Engineering Projects in line with company standards and relevant and UK / European legislation, ATEX, PLSG, API, EEMUA etc.
  • Assist with the requesting of defined plant and system downtime with Subject Matter Experts, Operations, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee contract engineers and support staff working on behalf of Exolum.
  • Assist with the management of time and resources to ensure well controlled, compliant with the Working Time Regulations and meet responsibilities for health and safety.
  • Report on activities and provide relevant information (activity and financial) to the Project Manager.
  • Ensure activities completed are fully compliant with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements, particularly safety and ensuring safe systems of work.

 

 

About You

 

The successful candidate will hold Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Science based bachelor’s degree, HND or equivalent Professional qualification and have experience of engineering of medium to large capex projects on hazardous sites / MAH environments with a working knowledge of COMAH, MOC, and CDM regulations. Previous experience of managing multiple site works Working knowledge of current legislation: PSSR, LOLER, DSEAR (ATEX), PSSR, PUWER, COMAH and CDM. Working Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as BS EN 14015 / API 570/650/653 and BS EN 60079 and also be proficient with Microsoft office and being able to develop and maintain positive relationships with the key stakeholders internally and externally.

 

Incorporated / Chartered or working towards Incorporate / Chartership a project management qualification – APM PMQ or equivalent and experience in managing ageing assets with considerable experience in the oil industry or similarly regulated environment, ideally COMAH would also be desirable but not essential.
