People Administrator – London- 6 months FTC

 

About the role

The People Administrator plays a key role in supporting the People Team by managing a range of administrative tasks across the full employee lifecycle. From onboarding new colleagues and processing right-to-work checks to coordinating Learning & Development activities and maintaining accurate HR records, you will ensure smooth and efficient processes that deliver an exceptional employee experience. You will also handle purchase orders and invoices, support offboarding, and act as a reliable point of contact for routine HR queries.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee queries related to HR and Learning & Development matters.
  • Manage the HR shared mailbox, ensuring queries are assigned and responded to within 24 hours, and escalate issues where necessary.
  • Maintain HR systems and employee records, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to current legislation.
  • Prepare and administer HR documentation, including offer letters, employment contracts, salary reviews, promotions and other employee changes.
  • Communicate employee changes to payroll promptly and accurately.
  • Manage onboarding processes, including right-to-work checks, references, pre-employment screening, new starter forms, and payroll notifications.
  • Generate and maintain monthly HR metrics reports using the HR system.
  • Handle personal data in compliance with GDPR and the Company’s Data Protection Policy.
  • Administer Learning & Development activities and maintaining accurate records.
  • Raise purchase orders and process invoices for People team activities.
  • Support and process offboarding tasks, ensuring compliance and accurate documentation.
  • Work towards and support the team on creating and updating process guides for all People processes across the full employee lifecycle.
  • Provide support on ad hoc People projects to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

 

You will have a good standard of education, with GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths or equivalent. You will demonstrate strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail, alongside clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, is essential, as is the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and in line with GDPR requirements. Ideally, you will also hold an NVQ in Business Administration or a CIPD Certificate in HR or Training Administration, and have experience in HR or Learning & Development administration. Familiarity with HR systems such as Cascade, SuccessFactors or Workday would be an advantage.
