UK&I Accounting Manager – Revenue & AR

 

About the role

 

The UK&I Accounting Manager – Revenue & AR is responsible for leading and managing the UK&I revenue accounting and accounts receivable teams. The role oversee the end-to-end revenue accounting cycle and accounts receivable operations for the UK & Ireland region. This includes ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition in line with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS 15), overseeing customer invoicing and collections, and driving continuous improvement across the revenue and AR processes.

 

Key Responsibility

  • Lead and manage the UK&I Revenue Accounting and AR teams, ensuring high performance, clear objectives, and ongoing development.
  • Oversee month-end revenue close, ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition in line with IFRS 15 and internal policies.
  • Prepare and run the monthly P&L review meeting for revenue, ensuring that in depth analysis is provided on the actuals.
  • Review and approve revenue journals, and balance sheet reconciliations, including deferred revenue and accrued income and more.
  • Manage end-to-end AR operations, ensuring customer invoicing are processed accurately, Monitor outstanding receivable and credit control,  and the resolution of customer queries.
  • Drive improvements in aged debt, cash collection performance, setting and monitoring relevant KPIs.
  • Lead Year end audit for revenue, ensuring deliverable provided is accurate and on time. Act a primary liaison with auditors for all revenue related queries.
  • Provide value added analysis on revenue performance, revenue trends, customer profitability and margins
  • Deliver commercial reporting including forecasts, pipeline analysis, and sales performance metrics.
  • Identify revenue risks and opportunities, working with commercial to propose actions to drive growth, improve yield, and protect margins.

 

 

 

 

About You

 

The successful candidate will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent) and will have experience leading revenue accounting functions and managing the month-end close process. They will also possess hands-on experience managing AR, billing, or credit control teams, as well as experience in business partnering with commercial teams. Additionally, they should have a proven track record of producing commercial reports and analysis, along with strong technical knowledge of IFRS 15 revenue recognition. The candidate must demonstrate strong commercial acumen, an understanding of customer billing and customer accounts, and the ability to effectively manage and develop teams.
