Procurement Manager - London
About the role
To be successful you will be able to lead the NWE Procurement team through transformational change to become a highly effective and efficient function, aligning all the entities with the same procedures to centralize the procurement function across the region. Implement and maintain Category Management and manage the entire procurement process including supplier selection, contract negotiation, cost management, and supply chain optimization. Guaranteeing savings to the company and level of service. Lead, mentor, and develop the regional procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth and be the main point of contact in NWE for international stakeholders. Implement and maintain a strong vendor’s qualification and evaluation process.
Key Responsibilities
Managing a team you will be required to review management information regularly to identify areas of opportunities for cost savings & cost avoidance through planned and effective negotiation, process improvements, leverage, consolidation of suppliers and contracts and support the ongoing procurement and category strategy. Develop effective relationships with suppliers and ensure timely delivery of the required services to NWE.
- Seek continual and sustained improvements, setting KPIs, monitoring, reporting and taking action when results fall below the standards set.
- Implement and monitor the Procurement Policy and procedures, gaining buy-in from key stakeholders. Manage contractual arrangements through the procurement cycle to ensure that goods and services are delivered in time, to specification, within budget and provide optimum value for money.
- Ensure early planning & appropriate purchasing strategies for budgeted, planned (and unplanned) projects’ and maintenance requirements.
- To maintain a register of tenders and current contracts, and timely planning in advance the procurement strategy for expiring contracts.
- Adopt sound contract management practices to continuously monitor, evaluate and improve key supplier performance.
- Successfully handle disputes and claims with suppliers
- Ensure the drafting of sound contracts using approved contracting principles and insurance requirements handling any significant contractual deviations with the legal resources.
- Support the Leadership team to deliver the financial and business objectives
How Will You Succeed
You will have extensive experience at a senior level and be able to demonstrate successful delivery of procurement solutions and a Member Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply is desirable
- Proven experience in planning, organising, and managing resources to bring about the successful delivery of procurement solutions to meet business or project objectives to specification, in time and within budget.
- Experience within the oil industry or other top tier COMAH operations could be an advantage
- Extensive experience managing CAPEX and OPEX RFQs, Specifically on projects and operations and maintenance
- Experience on negotiation related to Framework Agreements
- Extensive experience on negotiations
- Proven track record in strategic sourcing and managing complex procurement projects.
- Experience with tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier management is crucial
- Experience with a multi-disciplined user base across multiple locations.
- Experience of managing a team

About the Benefits
- Salary £70,000 - £80,000 depending on experience
