About the role
To ensure all maintenance tasks are effectively planned and executed in line with company policies, minimizing risks to people and the environment. Support plant operations and maximize equipment availability and OEE through best practices. Responsibilities include SCADA/DCS/PLC and instrumentation fault finding, repair, and calibration, as well as inspection of SIL/SIF systems and hazardous area equipment. Also contribute to developing maintenance procedures and documentation, and coordinate with contractors as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Required to plan & arrange plant shutdowns, Kick off meetings where required
- Ensure the safe delivery of maintenance activities ensuring safety & regulative compliance, liaising with key stakeholders in minimising downtime
- Liaise with company & external Technical Authorities with regard to failure modes & appropriate corrective actions
- Assist with Continuous improvement activities and initiatives.
- Assist with the production and review of maintenance processes, documentation and procedures in line with relevant standards & good practice
- Ensure third party contract maintenance is appropriately controlled
- Assist Exolum stakeholders with Technical & Operational advice and support, assist with project completion where required
- Adhere to and deliver the maintenance strategic plan
- Partake in &/ or lead appropriate RCA techniques in order to minimise repeat failures
- Assist with the operation and maintenance of remote enclosures & pumping stations where applicable
- Ensure compliance to company KPIs
- Implement improvement programs and plans where and ensure reliability and engineering standards are understood and adhered to.
- May be required to plan, manage & deliver small capital project works
About you
The successful candidate will have completed a relevant apprenticeship with associated qualifications, including COMPEX certification and credentials related to safety management and maintenance control on an Upper Tier COMAH site. They will have experience maintaining SCADA/DCS systems, hold relevant electrical qualifications, understand isolation procedures, and work safely on low-voltage (LV) systems. A proven track record in a similar role, ideally within a COMAH Upper Tier environment, is essential.
A degree in a relevant discipline is highly desirable, along with experience in maintaining HV/LV systems and large rotating equipment. Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving PLC/DCS issues, with confidence in navigating control systems, is highly desirable.
